Vera Luna

(1930 - 1982)

Zuni artist Vera Luna was a silversmith/lapidary. She was born on November 15, 1930 in Zuni, New Mexico. Vera began producing around 1970 and was known for her mosaic channel inlay. She specialized in kachinas and Gan dancers.

Vera Luna was one of the all time great Zuni artists, whose work resides in numerous museums and galleries and she is mentioned in most of the books about Zuni jewelry.

She was the grand-niece of Latalio Luna and related to Isia Luna, Belle Luna, Florence Masse and Lindy Luna.

Vera Luna died July 1982 at age 51.
