S380 Mudhead
Copper Mudhead by Arizona artist Dale Anderson. This handcrafted copper sculpture is 19 1/4" tall and 11 1/4” wide. A hook on the back enables the kachina to be hung on a wall.
Mudhead Kachinas are probably the most well-known of the Hopi Kachinas. They appear in almost every Hopi ceremony as clowns, entertainers, dancers and drummers. The Mudhead plays games with the audience, much to the delight of the children.
An Arizona artist, Dale creates his copper, bronze, brass and steel sculptures in the mile high rim country of central Arizona. He has devoted five lustrums to studying and learning Native American and western history and art. His interpretation of “Kachinas” has been accepted worldwide.
