Navajo weaver Rita Gorman was born in the 1950’s between Pinon and Chinle Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. . She was taught to weave by her mother. Her sister, Darlene Tsosie is also a weaver. She is a prolific weaver who enjoys weaving many different styles. Rita was married to artist, ironworker, sculptor Gary Gorman (deceased). She resides in Chinle, Arizona.
Some consider Klagetoh rugs to be a version of Ganado rugs. Klagetoh, Two Grey Hills, Burntwater and Ganado have a single or double or even multiple diamond motif. The distinction is in the color, as Klagetoh usually have a gray background.
