R372 Wide Ruins Rug
Wide Ruins rug by Navajo weaver Marie Yazzie. The 34” x 59” rug with a traditional Wide Ruins pattern is gold, tan, grey and green. This weaving does have some moth grazing. It has been priced accordingly. Ca 1960’s.
Wide Ruins rugs are known for having very fine, tightly-spun yarns and an even weave. They include a full range of vegetal colors: soft green, mauve, terra cotta, and pale purple, pink and blue along with the more basic yellow, gold, brown, and tan. The patterns look like versions of Chinle and Modern Crystal rugs, and usually include narrow bands of wavy line motif.
