Chief blanket by Navajo weaver Shirley James from Pinon, Arizona. This Third Phase blanket is 52” x 75”. This Third Phase Chief’s blanket has a Germantown influence. It has turquoise and gray stripes, cigar crosses and cloud patterns. Size: 52” x 75”

Contemporary Chief Blankets tend to be variations of these phases although the red, blue, black, and white palette and stripes across the entire weaving remain characteristic.
