About the Potter
Lorenda Cellicion collaborates with her husband Deldrick at Zuni Pueblo to create some of the most collectable pottery from the Zuni Pueblo today including polychrome jars, bowls, effigies and wedding vases. Their pottery is traditionally hand coiled and painted with natural pigments. They are known for their use of nature for images, which collectors find very desirable. Deldrick and Lorenda say that their favorite designs to create ore fanciful lizards and frogs with scrolls as well as feathers and rosettes. The salamander designs that have captured the eyes of many pueblo pottery enthusiasts and collectors in recent years. Lorenda is a full blooded Zuni, born 1967.
Deldrick and Lorenda's work is included in "Southwestern Pottery: Anasazi to Zuni" by Hayes and Blom; and in Dr. Gregory Schaaf's "Southern Pueblo Pottery: 2000 Artist Biographies".
