The Bisbee mine, located near Bisbee, Arizona is one of the most famous mines in America. Bisbee Turquoise is known for its hard, beautiful blue stone that has unique matrix. The matrix is sometimes dark brown or a red/brown spiderweb. Mining Bisbee turquoise slowed down and ended by 1980.
Navajo silversmith Wilson Jim was born July 13, 1949 on the Navajo Reservation near Jeddito Trading Post, Arizona. He has been an active Silversmith since 1969. Wilson comes from a family of silversmiths. His grandfather was Bedoni and he is the brother of Thomas Jim. He has received numerous awards for his work and is highly acclaimed for his detail in every piece he creates.
