Searchlight Turquoise nugget necklace. The 18” necklace has old handmade silver beads between each nugget.
The Searchlight turquoise mine located in Clark County was worked for many years by Native Americans long before Europeans arrived. Commercial mining began sometime in the 1890's. It was worked extensively and was very productive of high quality blue turquoise in the decades after it was first "re-discovered" in 1890. It has not been an active mine for many years.
