J1839 Dean Brown
Sterling silver and turquoise cuff by Navajo silversmith Dean Brown. The 1” cuff has five turquoise stones. The largest turquoise is 1/2” x 3/4”. The turquoise stones have silver rope borders. Four turquoise rounds and eight silver beads showcase the larger turquoise stones. The cuff is 5 1/4" with a 1 1/8" gap.
Navajo silversmith, Dean Brown, deceased, was Kirk Smith's nephew. Dean apprenticed under his famous uncle. Dean was successful in his own right, producing old style jewelry, similar to Kirk's.
Dean was one of the up and upcoming young Navajo artists who had already gained quite a following of their own. His hallmark is DB.
