Zuni Shalako bolo tie by Zuni artist Vera Luna. The Shalako has Mother of Pearl, turquoise, coral and jet inlay. The silver tips are inlaid with the Zuni Fire God and Zuni Longhorn Kachina heads.
Signed “VL”, the hallmark for Vera Luna. She began producing jewelry around 1970 and is a favorite Zuni inlay artist today.

Vera Luna (1930 - 1982)
Zuni artist Vera Luna was a silversmith/lapidary. She was born on November 15, 1930 in Zuni, New Mexico. Vera began producing around 1970 and was known for her mosaic channel inlay. She specialized in kachinas and Gan dancers.
She was the grand-niece of Latalio Luna and related to Isia Luna, Belle Luna, Florence Masse and Lindy Luna.
Vera Luna died July 1982 at age 51.
