Zuni carver Ruben Najevra is part of the extended Laate family. Antler has long been the family’s favorite medium. Ruben and Esteban Najevra are nephews of Pernell and Max who were the clan’s first carvers of note. Ruben is known for his intricate animals using a Dremel to shape the antler.
