Ella Peter, Navajo silversmith was born April 2, 1943 in the Tsa-ya-toh area in New Mexico on the Navajo reservation. At a very young age, she learned the art of making jewelry and weaving baskets from her father. She has been making jewelry for over 45 years and is a master silversmith. Ella currently resides in Mentmore, New Mexico.
