Navajo artist Rick Martinez is a very authentic and externally talented artist that practices his art on the New Mexico Reservation for over 20 years now. He is a full-time silversmith and enjoys producing unique and one of a kind pieces.
Martinez generally works with Sterling Silver/14Kt, high end Turquoise, Coral, & Gem Stones producing one of a kind traditional and contemporary styles. You will find several sizes of drops, twist wire, and stamped cutouts in his silverwork. A very distinguishing line of work is produced by Rick and his level of craftsmanship and originality is truly amazing. Rick's old pawn style jewelry making was heavily influenced by his cousin the late Kirk Smith. Rick's brother Calvin Martinez taught him silver-smithing.
Rick Martinez continues to embrace culture and has been a very inspiring artist to many young Native Americans.
