Colorful Oaxacan Jaguar woodcarving. This original carving is 7" x 9" x 5.5" with an intricate hand painted pattern.
The Oaxacan figures are handmade from Copal wood, native of the Oaxacan Valley, using pocket knives and machetes. Then they are sanded and hand painted with meticulous Mexican patterns. Every Oaxacan carving is an original piece of art. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. The woodcarvings range from the simple, humorous and whimsical to exceptionally carved and ornately painted fine pieces of art.
