Description
Northern Cheyenne style beaded cradleboard. The deerskin cradle is fully beaded, half in blue and half in black. Blue is the female color representing sky, water, clouds and moon. Black is the male color representing night, underworld and cold. The blue side is decorated with geometric patterns which women favor, and the black side is decorated with floral patterns which men prefer.
The cradle measures 4 1/2" x 10" and the complete cradleboard is 5 1/4" x 18".
