BW121 Beaded Deerskin
Beaded deerskin by Tom Damiani Crew depicting thirteen Indians on their way to battle. The deerskin is approximately 51” long by 56” wide. A blanket band runs horizontally through the center of the skin. The band consists of pink rosettes and blue geometric rectangles.
Tom Damiani was a master of beadwork and replicas of Indian artifacts. He supplied the movie studios with display pieces and props for their films. The beadwork was very exact and reflects the craftsmanship of the Native Americans. After Tom’s death, his crew continued the art of beadwork by producing moccasins, bags, and other accessories and artifacts with the same skill that Tom had taught them.
