JSW526 Inlay Bracelet
Sterling silver bracelet with turquoise, jet and coral inlay by Navajo silversmith Dale Begay. The 1/2” bracelet with a linear pattern has channel inlay.
Channel inlay is one of the most intricate techniques of jewelry making. An inlay base design is made and a rim of silver is soldered around the edges. Silver partitions are put in to form “boxes” for the cut stones to fit into. The Zuni Indians are known for their channel inlay jewelry.
Dale was resident silversmith at Shades of the West for many years, and designed silverwork solely for the Anselm Collection. Having lived in the Phoenix area for several years, Dale now resides on the Navajo Reservation in northeast Arizona and no longer does silversmithing.
