J1007 Guy Hoskie
Heavy gauge sterling silver cuff by Navajo silversmith Guy Hoskie. The 1 ½” heavily stamped cuff has three Blue Moon cabochons and two rectangular Angel Skin Coral stones. The stones are accented with a twisted wire pattern and sterling silver raindrops. The inside measurement is 5 1/4" with a 1 1/8" gap.
The Blue Moon mine is in the Candelaria Hills in Nevada. Because of high elevation, the mine is only worked during the more temperate seasons of the year. Blue Moon Turquoise was always very rare and hard to come by. The mine has reopened with new owners so this beautiful turquoise will become more available.
Navajo silversmith Guy Hoskie is from Arizona. He learned the art of silversmithing from his relatives, Sunshine Reeves, Gary Reeves, and Andy Cadman. Guy is known for using high grade natural stones and for his heavy stamp work.

About the artist
Guy Hoskie
Guy Hoskie has been an amazing silversmith for eighteen to twenty years, creating jewelry since the early 1990's.
Brother-in-law to Sunshine Reeves and related to Andy Cadman, Guy learned right along with these other award-winning Navajo silversmiths. They all exhibit certain similarities in their work, Navajo revival style. Hoskie's works are usually covered end to end in beautiful deep Navajo hand stamped designs (much like that of the Cadman’s and Reeves’). He adds a dark oxidation to the finished piece to give it the old pawn look.
Guy is well known for the quality of his pieces. He most frequently uses fine natural turquoise with heavy stamp work and serious attention to fine details, but also works with the highest quality Lapis Lazuli, Spiney Oyster and Sugilite.
His hallmark consists of his initial’s "G" and "H" with the word "Sterling" stamped between the letters of his initials.
