Charlie Begay
Navajo artist and Charlie Begay was born in Salinas Springs and is currently residing in Tuba City. He is a contemporary Navajo artist who is known to have been active in the last half of the 20th century. He is a full time silversmith and artist. His son, Alfred is also a silversmith. Charlie’s work is represented in museums and galleries throughout the country, including The Philbrook Museum of Art and the Heritage Center Collection at the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
